At the Antique Gas and Steam Engine Museum (AGSEM), we rely on the dedication and passion of our volunteers to help preserve and showcase our rich heritage. Whether you're a seasoned enthusiast or looking to explore new interests, there's a place for you here. We welcome volunteers of all ages and backgrounds to contribute their time and skills to various areas of our museum.

Volunteers can help many way but here is an example of some of what we ask for:

Maintenance and Ground Work

Help keep our museum grounds and equipment in top condition through regular maintenance and upkeep tasks.

Clean Up and Restoration

Work on restoring and preserving our collection of antique gas and steam engines, vehicles, and artifacts of creative background such as weaving, blacksmithing, and model train displays.

Docent Work

Share your knowledge and love for history by becoming a museum docent, guiding visitors through our exhibits and providing engaging insights.

Operations Support

Assist with day-to-day operations such as administrative tasks, prepping for events, and coordinating logistics.

Event Day Help

Join us during special events to lend a hand with activities like driving tractors, managing the kitchen, conducting demonstrations, handling admissions, and assisting guests.

Volunteer Eligibility

  • All Ages Welcome: Whether you're a retiree with a lifetime of experience or a high school student eager to contribute, we value your participation. (For persons under 15 an adult would need to be present, for persons under 18 consent must be given to the office before proceeded with volunteering)

  • Community Service Hours: High school students seeking volunteer hours for graduation requirements are encouraged to join us.

  • Group Volunteers: We welcome groups such as scouting troops, community organizations, and corporate teams looking for volunteer opportunities.
